When autumn dresses our landscape in different colours, when the imposing chestnut trees in the Isarco Valley lose their popular fruits, and when this typical scent of must and wine can be smelled in the areas around the wineries, then it is time for "Törggelen", dinner with traditional food, chestnuts and new wine. After an autumn hike with friends you can taste the so-called new wine in one of the traditional guesthouses. You can taste typical South Tyrolean starters, main courses with sauerkraut (cabbage) and dumplings, and sweet doughnuts and roasted chestnuts for dessert.

Of course you might notice these evenings on your hips afterwards! But not to worry, autumn is the best time for hiking. The air is never as clear and the view never stretches as far as during the Golden season!

The forests, vineyards and apple trees are colourful during this period, and the numerous markets and apple and wine festivals are lively. Get infected by this extraordinary atmosphere!
