From Paalhof you have a direct view of the imposing mountains: the Sciliar - a bizarrely shaped mountain massif and unmistakable symbol of South Tyrol. The Sciliar Mountain provides the name of the sunny alpine plateau comprising the villages Castelrotto, Siusi and Fiè, and the largest and probably most beautiful alpine pasture in Europe, the Alpe di Siusi pasture with 57 km².
